If 8 Year Old Me Could See This..

Could anyone have imagined this?? Maybe we did, but only in that “there’s no way that’ll ever happen” kind of way.

Today I’m working on a VR headset, tapping at thin air like it’s completely normal.

I renewed my tag by swiping a piece of paper in front of a tablet (pocketbook computer) about the size of a Golden Book. (Do kids even know what a Golden Book is anymore?) DMV trip successfully avoided, that is something our past selves wished for!

Reality TV is playing in the background because, somehow, that’s a completely normal thing now too.

An Alexa is sitting next to me waiting for me to use her as my personal assistant.

My phone is recording.

A robot vacuum is rolling around doing chores while I work in my grown up playhouse of an art studio.

If I hadn’t already cooked, I can order groceries or cooked food right to my door.

Cars can drive themselves..

If you had described this day to 8 year old me, I would’ve assumed you were explaining a sci-fi movie.

Then I can go play dress up and share with the whole world… instead of recording yourself on the family camcorder onto a VHS that’s bigger than my computer.. and no extra storage in “the cloud”.

Turns out… we became the future.
