It’s hard to be this age of human that lived without social media, computers and phones. To know life without is now foreign. People used to just chill in their homes and find things to entertain themselves. The “Keeping up with the Jones’s” was just your coworkers and neighbors. Now it feels like pressure to keep up with everyone.
…
Facebook:
A place to share your hopes, dreams,
Nightmares, and all the things in between.
…
Every post you share,
Be aware and beware.
People will receive and perceive,
Whatever they choose to believe.
…
Thief of introductions.
A place to meet an unlikely new friend.
*Add friend*
No formal connection needed.
When face to face,
Now the time and place,
Chance of formal meet and greet.
Do you initiate a hello or handshake,
Or do you continue to remain digital acquaintances.
…
Share who you want to be,
By faking what others see.
People think it’s who you are,
This bright made up a shining star.
Most, only know what they see from afar.
Or… this could be a chance to be free,
By voicing an actual reality.
…
Every Facebook choice made,
Every post you like,
Even the ones you don’t like,
Every comment you make,
Even the comments you don’t make,
Decided by others how they are conveyed.
…
Imagine a post is made,
You do not see,
No response given as interaction trade.
You are judged as mad or petty for assumingly seeing with choosing to ignore,
Unknowingly starting a silent war.
Persecution for social media absence.
…
It keeps you awake,
Information overload of give and take.
Watch others while furthering thoughts of unrealistic self-image impurities.
Sweet Dreams…
Of insomnia and insecurities.

Razor sharp insight! Thank You!!!
